The Breast Cancer Book by Sarah Glynn
Chapter one

One Diagnosis.
A Thousand Decisions.

In a matter of moments, life becomes a series of decisions you never expected to make.

In between is a world of unfamiliar language, urgent decisions, endless appointments, and questions that don't always have simple answers.

Women are asked to understand pathology reports, weigh treatment options, manage side effects, and make life-changing decisions—often within days or weeks.

All while continuing to show up as mothers, partners, professionals, caregivers, and human beings.

The healthcare system is designed to treat the disease. But the experience of living through breast cancer is far more complex.

The Breast Cancer Book was written for that experience.

From the author

The Guide I Needed When I Heard The Words: “You Have Breast Cancer.”

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I quickly discovered that information wasn't the problem. There was information everywhere.

The challenge was making sense of it.

  • Understanding what mattered.
  • Knowing which questions to ask.
  • Finding trustworthy guidance.
  • Coordinating care.
  • Navigating fear.
  • Creating a plan.

As a clinically trained midwife and health publisher, I had spent decades helping people navigate complex health decisions. Yet even with that background, I found myself searching for a resource that brought everything together.

I couldn't find it. So I began creating it.

The Breast Cancer Book was written during chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, and endocrine therapy—while living the experience in real time.

Recovery & survivorship

Breast Cancer Doesn't End
When Treatment Ends

For many women, some of the biggest questions begin after active treatment is over.

  • How do I regain my strength?
  • How do I manage fear of recurrence?
  • What does recovery actually look like?
  • How do I move forward without pretending this never happened?

The Breast Cancer Book includes guidance not only for diagnosis and treatment, but also for recovery, survivorship, recurrence prevention, and rebuilding life after cancer.

Because support shouldn't end when treatment does.
